Canvas End-of-Year Housekeeping Tips

These are End-of-Year Tips, do not forget to take a look at Summer and Before School Starts tips.

Manually Created Courses Tips for Before School Ends

  • Delete old manually created course(s) you do not wish to keep. Open the course you want to delete, click Settings>Delete this Course

CAUTION: If there is more than one teacher in the course, and it’s deleted, all users loose the course.

  • Clean out the “People” page by adding or removing users from your manually created course. Click People>Click image-20240324-020159.png icon at the end of the name>select Remove From Course

Manual Courses with term “2x-2x Manual” will automatically conclude on at the end of the school year. Users enrolled in a concluded course will have a “view-only” access to the content. Teachers will always have the ability to copy/import content from a concluded course.

District Course Tips for After School Ends

District Created courses are built based on your TAC/eSchool Schedule and are considered “Live Courses”.

District Courses courses will automatically conclude on at the end of the school year. Users enrolled in a concluded course will have a “view-only” access to the content. Teachers will always have the ability to copy/import content from a concluded course.

  • If you are enrolled in a course that you are not the teacher in and no longer need access to the course, you need to email the course’s teacher to have them remove you.

  • If you self-enrolled in the course you will have the “Drop This Course” option on the course’s home page.
