Performing an audit: Bulk Actions Set Info
You may run into situations where you need to update multiple information fields for a whole set of assets at once. For example, you might need to update the room, location, and Cart Number for a set of Chromebooks, or you may want to add the exact same note to a batch of devices.
Follow this guide to learn how to use the Bulk Action Set Info tool in Incident IQ to efficiently update one or more fields for a set of assets.
This process starts with a Rapid Scan. If you need to learn how to do this first, please review our guide on Performing an Audit: Rapid Scanning.
How to Update Asset Info in Bulk
Step 1: Rapid Scan and Select
Perform a Rapid Scan of the assets you need to update.
Once your list populates in the pop-up window, check the Select All box.
Click the Set Info button.

Step 2: Choose Fields
Click the Choose a Field to Update drop-down menu and select the specific field you want to change (e.g., Location, Room, Notes, Cart, Cart Number).

Step 3: Add Fields
Click the Add Field button. If you need to update more than one piece of information (like both Room and Cart Number), repeat this step to add the additional fields.

Step 4: Input New Information
Incident IQ will now display the fields you selected. Enter the new, correct information into each field.
Note: Pay attention to any on-screen prompts, as Incident IQ may provide important guidelines about the specific information required for those fields.

Step 5: Update Assets
Once you have entered the correct information into all selected fields, click the Update Assets button.

Step 6: Confirm and Apply Changes
Incident IQ will generate a confirmation page summarizing the changes you are about to make. Review this information carefully!
If everything is correct, click Apply Changes to officially update the assets.
If something is not correct, click Cancel to return to the previous screen and fix the errors.
