Export Assets Being Recycled in Excel Format

Follow this guide to export an Excel list of the assets located in your Recycling/End of Life room.

Important Prerequisites: You must complete the first two steps in the Technology Recycling process before following the instructions found in this article. If you have not done so, please complete these steps first:

  1. Change Status of Technology Being Recycled to EOL

  2. Create a Custom View of your EOL Recycling Room

How to Export Your Recycling List

Step 1: Open Your Custom View

In Incident IQ, click on the Custom View of your Recycling/End of Life room that you created previously. This will display the old assets that were automatically moved there when you changed their status to EOL.

Step 4: Arrange Columns and Export

You can adjust where each column appears in your report if needed.

  • Tip: It is highly recommended to move the newly added Serial Number column so it sits right next to the Asset Tag column. Once your columns are arranged, click the Export button.

Important Final Steps for Your Audit

Now that you have your exported Excel list, you must complete the following physical and digital steps:

  • Digital Upload: You will need to upload this saved Excel file to the Technology Recycling ticket you submit in Incident IQ.

  • Physical Printout: Don’t forget to print out this Excel file and place it physically on top of the stack of assets you are recycling. The Network Tech will use this printed list to verify that they have taken everything you are sending.

Next Step in the Workflow:

Learn how to Submit a Technology Recycling Ticket so that your Network Tech can come and pick up your old tech.
