Submit a Technology Recycling Ticket
Follow this guide to learn how to submit a Technology EOL/Recycling Ticket in Incident IQ. This is the final digital step to ensure your old tech is properly picked up and processed.
Important Prerequisites: You must complete the first three steps in the Technology Recycling process before submitting this ticket in Incident IQ:
Step-by-Step Submission Guide
Step 1: Start a New Ticket
Go to the Tickets tab on the left-hand navigation menu and click + New Ticket.

Step 2: Select the Main Category
Choose the Devices / Hardware category.

Step 3: Choose Technology Recycling
Select Technology Recycling/EOL from the available sub-categories.

Step 4: Select Technology Type
Click on Technology Type and select the specific asset type you are recycling (e.g., Chromebook, iPad, Non-Student Device, etc.).

Step 5: Review the "Non-Student Devices" Prompt
Special Note: If you select "Non-Student Device," you will see a prompt with an image of "Ice Cream Carts" (WOW or Datamation Carts).
Review the image carefully. These specific carts must be sent to Auction rather than standard recycling.
Answer the required question: "Look at the picture above. Do you have any of these 'Ice Cream Carts'?" (Select Yes or No).

Step 6: Fill Out Ticket Details and Attach File
Fill out the remaining details of the Technology Recycling ticket, ensuring you include the following required information:
Description: Add a brief description of the type of assets you are recycling.
Room Location: Enter the exact room number where the Network Tech can find the assets.
Number of Assets: Enter the total count of items being recycled.
Upload Excel File: You must attach the Excel file you exported during the prerequisite steps. (Need help? See How to export the list from your Custom View).

Step 7: Confirm Upload and Submit
Verify that your Excel file is successfully attached to the ticket. Once confirmed, click Submit Ticket.

Required Physical Steps After Submission
You have successfully submitted the digital ticket, but you must now physically prepare the assets for pickup:
Print the Ticket: Print a physical copy of the ticket from Incident IQ.
Print the Excel File: Print the Excel file containing the list of assets you are recycling.
Attach to Assets: Place both of these printed documents directly on top of the physical stack of assets being recycled.
Your District Network Tech will use this printed Excel List to verify that they have picked up all the assets you are sending.

Ticket Workflow (What Happens Next)
Once your ticket is submitted, it follows an automated workflow:
Assignment: The completed Technology Recycling Ticket is automatically assigned to your District Network Tech.
Pickup & Delivery: Your District Network Tech will physically pick up the items and deliver them to the warehouse.
Status Change: Once delivered, the District Network Tech will change the status of the ticket to “Recycled Assets – Delivered to Warehouse”.
Final Processing: This status change automatically reassigns the ticket to Shane Mitchell. Shane will then remove the assets from your school’s Recycling/End of Life room, finalize the digital recycling process, and resolve the ticket.
ONLY District Network Techs should change the status of Technology Recycling tickets to "Recycled Assets – Delivered to Warehouse". They will only do this after they have picked up the assets and delivered them. Please do not manually change this status yourself.
