Change Status of Technology Being Recycled to EOL

Follow this guide to learn how changing the status of old technology to its corresponding "End of Life" (EOL) status will automatically move those assets to your Recycling/End of Life room.

Important: The Technology Recycling Workflow Please be sure to follow the Technology Recycling Steps in this exact order:

  1. Change Status of Technology Being Recycled to EOL (You are here)

  2. Create a Custom View of your EOL Recycling Room

  3. Export Assets Being Recycled in Excel Format

  4. Submit a Technology Recycling Ticket


How to Change Assets to EOL Status

Step 1: Log In

Log into Incident IQ.

Step 2: Rapid Scan and Select All

  1. Start scanning the old devices you are recycling using a barcode scanner. A Rapid Scan list will start building automatically in Incident IQ.

  2. Once you have scanned the batch, click the Select All checkbox to select all the assets on your list.

Step 3: Change Status

Click the Change Status button to bulk change the status of all the selected assets on your list.

Step 4: Select the Correct EOL Status

Select the specific EOL Status that corresponds to the type of device you are recycling. Please use the following guide:

Device Type

EOL Status to Select

Chromebooks

EOL Chromebook Being Recycled

iPads

EOL iPad Being Recycled

Non-Student Device Tech

Non-Student Device Tech Being Recycled

Example: If you are recycling a batch of Chromebooks, you will change the status to "EOL Chromebook Being Recycled."

What Happens Next?

System Note: This EOL room functions similarly to the "Gone" room in TipWeb, but without the need to manually add the assets to it. Changing the status of the old assets to their corresponding EOL status will automatically move them to your Recycling/End of Life room in Incident IQ!
